¡Vampiros en La Habana!
- IMDB
- Year: 1985
- Writer: Juan Padrón, Ernesto Padrón
- Director: Juan Padrón
Excellent adult vampire story from Cuba. A trumpet-playing grandson of Dracula is a new breed of vampire, one that can tolerate sunlight. He acquires this ability by ingesting a secret formula, which his uncle has been feeding him for years. Greedy capitalist vampires want to market the formula as “Vampisun”, so that vampires can finally get a tan.
If you’re thinking that this plotline sounds familiar, it is: the Blade and Underworld films clearly ripped off this clever original. ¡Escandolo!
The music is friggin awesome, btw — kickass trompeta Cubana. It should be remastered, though!! (Film and soundtrack)
