Depressing and deep memories on this horrible anniversary. As I watch this date slip into banal Americana, I can’t help but express my own shopworn platitude: never forget.

Due to seismic events on the homefront, I have not been able to post to the blog lately.

But I can’t let today’s significant anniversary — the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon — go unremarked. I was only four years old, but I remember it well. It remains the bravest, most audacious engineering effort in human history. I never tire of the recollections, in fact they still give me chills.

Well done, Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, you lucky bastards :)

Baby 2009 fills me with equal measures of hope and dread. I must let the creature take shape and at least pretend to love it….

I am so eager to dance on 2008’s grave. I will be here in LA for the event, which can’t come soon enough.

Los Angeles is hot and lovely. I remain here, hovering by the bedside of 2008, waiting impatiently for it to finally die.
