Andrew Koenig, funny actor and son of Walter “Chekov” Koenig, has gone missing in Vancouver. He didn’t make his flight home and has friends, family and BC police worried.

He was last seen on Valentine’s Day. His family says he’s been in a funk lately, but let’s try not to think of the worst.

Koenig’s friends are asking you to reblog this, and have given the following contact info:

If you’ve seen Andrew since February 14th, or have any helpful information, PLEASE call Vancouver authorities @ 604-717-2967 or 604-717-2534. Refer to case #202029519.

UPDATE, 2/26/2010: As you have no doubt heard, this story has ended in the worst way possible. Life is often unfathomably painful; I’m so sad Andrew opted for the most effective, yet tragically irreversible treatment.

Three clever lads produced this slick little film that follows the scrolling text from Star Wars after it disappears from view. Enjoy!

I finally succumbed. I do make a fine Vulcan.

See the creepy results here.

I just came back from the new “Trek” and am happy to report that it kicked some ass. Yes, it is “non-canonical”, but it is also very reverent, peppered with all sorts of in-jokes for the devoted.

The casting is great, even Zachary Quinto as Spock, which I was worried about. Major props to John Cho (Cho is one sexy Sulu) and the dude playing McCoy. His name eludes me at the moment, but he nailed McCoy without doing a caricature. [CORRECTION: the talented fellow in question is Karl Urban].

But the MVP trophy goes to Simon Pegg as Scottie. He doesn’t appear until late in the game, but it’s worth the wait. He’s made the character his own.

I must also mention the appearance of my boy Clifton Collins, Jr., who earned a special star on my walk of fame for his awesome performance in “Capote”…. Unfortunately, he is cast as second banana to Eric Bana (say that three times fast!).

A really fun summer flick … the franchise has indeed been reborn.
